Our story
We are truly a family business, and we are siblings. Our creative family is made up of versatile professionals in graphic design and IT; we are connected by similar interests both at work and in our free time. We haven’t settled for just one area of expertise but are constantly excited to try new things, allowing us to grow as professionals.
We are comic artists, illustrators, musicians, science fiction fans, gamers, photographers, artists… and who knows what else?
Family actually began in 2016, when Heidi founded the sole proprietorship HR Graphics. The business ran as a one-woman show for two years until Tuomas joined in the fall of 2018. The team expanded again in the fall of 2019 when Anna came on board. Something incredible had happened: three siblings had joined forces to create a working team!
HEIDI SÄNTTI
CEO, Founder of Family Creatives
Heidi is a forward-looking visionary, an experienced graphic designer, and a company founder. She is people-oriented, determined, and always developing something new. A solution-focused approach is typical for her, and this is also evident in her work with clients. Heidi has a background as a Media Management (B.A.), having graduated in 2011. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Jyväskylä, majoring in contemporary culture studies. In her work, Heidi is passionate about information design and data visualization, as well as creating corporate identities for businesses of all sizes, from logos to business cards.

TUOMAS RUOTANEN
2D Animator, Web Developer & Graphic Designer
Tuomas is a creative multi-talented individual, animator, and illustrator with a unique illustration style.
Tuomas’s calm and determined presence has often impressed clients, and his ability to listen to the client is exceptional. He is the one who tells it like it is; no unnecessary chatter, just straight to the point! Tuomas can explain even the most complex technical matters to clients in an understandable way, which is a real skill in graphic design customer service. This trait is also reflected in the work environment, as you can always ask him for help, even with the most challenging issues.
The more creative and story-driven the animation, the better—it’s what inspires Tuomas in his work. His sensitivity shines through in his artistic work and manifests in his distinctive illustration style and his ability to see things as a whole.
In his free time, he enjoys making music and singing. This talent directly influences his animation work, where synchronizing background music and lyrics with moving graphics is a demanding task.
Tuomas graduated with a degree in Business Information Technology (BBA) in 2018. He started working at Family Creatives immediately after his studies.

ANNA RUOTANEN
Graphic Designer, Illustrator & Photographer
Anna is a calm multi-talent, yet a bright personality, which is reflected in her work. Her desk is home to both layout design and brand development. Illustration, photography, and web design are the things that excite Anna the most. Although her imagination can sometimes be quite vivid, her strengths lie in empathy and patience, qualities that clients have often praised.
Anna graduated in 2013 as a Visual Artist from Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences (now Lapland UAS), after which she worked as a photographer in Finland and The Netherlands for about 10 years.
In The Netherlands, she was responsible for creative product photography and managing a photography studio. Since then, she has photographed for several real estate agents, furniture companies, as well as various events and portraits. Corporate photography and stock photography are her specialties, where her ability to understand the client’s needs and express them atmospherically in a storytelling manner truly shines.
